Microchipping your pet

This month we have been promoting the use of microchips and how they can help improve the chance that you will be reunited with your pet if they are ever lost or stolen. The size of a grain of rice, a microchip is injected under your pet’s skin and serves as a permanent ID. When scanned, the chip will transmit an identification number which is displayed on the scanner’s screen. Check out our video demonstration below of how easy a microchip application can be. As long as this number is registered and all contact information is up to date, a lost pet that is found and taken to a shelter or veterinary clinic can often be reunited with their owners. Do you have more questions about microchips? You can learn more by following the button below to the FAQ put together by the American Veterinary Medical Association. You can also call us at the clinic and we would be happy to help.
